A receipt is a signed record of one entry: the result and each check it ran, with no patient details, so it can be shared. First, four real runs on a test copy of OpenEMR. Below them, synthetic examples from MockMed, our test app.

Four real runs on a test copy of OpenEMR
Referrals entered by the compiled program, with synthetic patients. Three were saved and checked; the fourth stopped before saving, at a possible duplicate patient. Open any one to check its signature in your browser. See them on the program map.
Test-app example: both saves looked done. The receipt says which one landed.
A receipt is a signed record that a separate read of the record agreed, after the clicks. At month end you look at these instead of reopening every chart. The same job twice, in MockMed, our synthetic clinic app: one save landed, one didn't. No patient data.

The full run record, with the values typed and read back, stays on your computer; the receipt doesn't carry them. Try both results on your own machine with the command below: one Done and checked entry, then one whose save is rejected on purpose, which ends Check the record.
