Flow: the engine that turns a demonstration into a program

Flow is OpenAdapt's open-source engine. It records a task in a browser or on the desktop, compiles it into a program you can read, and runs it with checks: the right record before typing, the result after saving, and a stop when something doesn't match. It's MIT-licensed; try it with uvx --python 3.12 openadapt quickstart --break-it.

Updated 2026-10-18

What it does

  • Shows each compiled step, its values and what it expects to see, before a run.
  • Ties each program to its application, its right-record rules and a separate read of the saved record.
  • Finds a moved field from what it recorded, or stops; a proposed fix needs review before use.
  • Never repeats a save it couldn't confirm; that run ends "Check the record".
  • Also learns branches from several recordings, runs over a worklist, fills inputs from a referral PDF, fax image or email, compiles an AI agent's successful run into a program, checks a save made by any tool (verify-run), and has a strict no-outbound mode for on-site use.

Status
